Hugo Pound

Tunbridge Wells Labour is delighted to confirm Hugo Pound as its Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Tunbridge Wells Constituency at the next general election. We believe that Tunbridge Wells is ready to elect its first Labour MP.

Support for the Conservatives is collapsing and there is a national mood of urgency for a change in government. Opinion polls are predicting a Labour majority at the next General Election and locally Labour in the best position to take the Tunbridge Wells seat from Greg Clark.
Hugo has considerable expertise and local political experience. He was the Cabinet Member responsible for Housing and Planning within the previous Borough Partnership running Tunbridge Wells Borough Council. Until recently he was Leader of the Labour Group of Councillors and has served Sherwood residents for the last five years.
By profession a business psychologist, until recently Hugo ran his own international business consultancy for 30 years, specialising in leadership development. He started his career in the NHS before becoming a childcare and mental health social worker in London.
Tunbridge Wells is a special place for Hugo and has been a great area to bring up his family and run his business. He has been a governor at two local schools, the Judd School in Tonbridge and the Skinners’ Kent Academy in Tunbridge Wells.
If elected Hugo will continue to support residents, play an active part in shaping the future of Tunbridge Wells, and give his support to and help deliver the five missions of a newly elected Labour government.
We need an MP who will be able to influence a Labour government, not one who is sitting on the sidelines of opposition.
